Eagle’s Nest precautions to protect clients and staff from COVID-19

A Message From Eagle’s Nest Family Shelter

Eagle’s Nest Stoney Family Shelter is open and will continue to provide crisis support to women and children experiencing violence despite the ongoing pandemic.

We know it is important to acknowledge the complications COVID-19 presents to many people in the community and we know that in stressful times, family violence can increase. We don’t want you to worry about getting sick from COVID if you need support. It continues to be safe to seek support from the Shelter.

Eagle’s Nest is working closely with Stoney Health Services, the Nation and with all levels of government to ensure that we can continue to provide essential crisis services to women and children experiencing violence as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.

At the shelter, staff are:

Completing frequent COVID-19 assessments

Screening clients for COVID-19 at intake and if needed directing people to appropriate health services

Reduced our client capacity in order for everyone to have their own washroom and practice social distancing as much as possible

Increased cleaning and disinfection of the facility, especially high traffic areas, and all food stations

All visitors must wear a mask while in house. Clients and staff wear masks while in close proximity to each other.

We hope these changes will allow us to remain open during these hard times. We are working with Stoney Nakoda Nation to diligently protect our clients and our community, and to continue to support women and children experiencing violence.

Isniyes and stay safe
